Learn Guitar Fast - 3 Tips to Beat the Competition With Your Guitar Skills

To learn the guitar fast, you need to be able to put in the playing time. You might have this image in your mind of learning the guitar fast without almost any effort at all, but the world just doesn't work like that.

Did you know that the one thing that experts in any field have in common is 10,000 hours dedicated to their craft? Now, of course, putting in 10,000 hours towards the guitar constitutes anything but fast. The important thing to realize is that you need to work to get the results.

To let you know where to focus all your efforts, here are 3 effective tips to follow:

1. Rack up the hours practicing.

Just like I said before, all of the experts in their craft have spent thousands of hours developing their skills, and that's the focus that you'll need to copy. It sounds good on paper to pick up a guitar and have a song learned in a week, but it's all about the process and how much effort you're willing to put into it to create your results.

If you want to have a song learned in a week, it's feasible to put in at least two hours per day. You would start your practices with warm-up exercises for the first 5 to 12 minutes and then focus the remaining time on hashing through the chords in the songs until you nail it.

2. Read a half hour each day about learning the guitar.

Knowledge is power and I'm sure you've heard that phrase no less than a thousand times all throughout grade school, but the meaning still stands strong. If you don't know how to do something, like learn the guitar fast, you need to do your research and study the basic elements from the very beginning.

As much as the internet and videos appear to be the best source of information, they're not the most portable of sources. Check out a book at your local library or the book store and start studying only a little bit each day. You may be putting on only a single brick each day, but with time you'll have a wall.

3. Get some instruction from a professional.

One of the missing links to the guitar-playing puzzle is getting guidance from an experienced guitarist and gaining their insider knowledge about the skill. Really, there's only so much that you can obtain with your own initiative and research because there are insider secrets that only the professionals can provide beginners.

Of course, if you're a very computer intensive individual, you can gain that sort of guidance right from your computer from guitar lessons over the internet. If you haven't explored this way of gaining guitar knowledge, then I can fill you in on a few reasons why they rock:

* You can learn the guitar in your pajamas if you want.

That's what I hear anyway. There's no visual proof of me doing this.

* Gas is staying in your car as opposed to being used on a trip to your next lesson.

I like to save my money just as much as the next guy.

* Online lessons are usually a relatively low, one-time fee.

Again, I like my money to stay with me. I'm greedy.
